Attention!

With great sadness we inform you that IWOTA 2009 will not be held by the end of this May as planned. The Organizing Committee, with the approval of the Steering Committee, has decided this by considering the current health situation caused by the swine flu.
Although the situation in Mexico has already radically improved and everyday life in this country has returned to its normal status, we understand that safety of our participants comes first.

However, it has also been decided NOT to cancel IWOTA for this year, but to postpone it to the end of September.

Please check periodically for the information updates.

The 20th International Workshop on Operator Theory and Applications (IWOTA) is being organized at CIMAT (Center for Research in Mathematics), Guanajuato, Mexico, where it will be held from Monday, September 21 to Friday, September 25, 2009, with arrival scheduled for Sunday, September 20, 2009.

IWOTA 2009 is intended to be a comprehensive, inclusive conference covering all aspects of theoretical and applied operator theory, ranging from classical analysis, differential and integral equations, complex and harmonic analysis to mathematical physics, mathematical system and control theory, signal processing and numerical analysis.

We welcome proposals for special sessions, especially in traditional IWOTA areas. For details see the page on special sessions.

At present the list of plenary speakers includes:

  • Joseph Ball (Blacksburg, USA)
  • Lewis Coburn (Buffalo, USA)
  • Raul Curto (Iowa City, USA)
  • Sergey Dobrokhotov (Moscow, Russia)
  • Roland Duduchava (Tbilisi, Georgia)
  • Miroslav Englis (Prague, Czech Republic)

This IWOTA meeting will be the twentieth in a series of highly successful IWOTA meetings. The previous IWOTA meetings were held in Santa Monica (1981), Rehovot (1983), Amsterdam (1985), Mesa AZ (1987), Rotterdam (1989), Sapporo (1991), Vienna (1993), Regensburg (1995), Bloomington (1995), Groningen (1998), Bordeaux (2000), Faro (2000), Blacksburg (2002), Cagliari (2003), Newcastle (2004), Storrs (2005), Seoul (2006), Potchefstroom (2007), and Williamsburg (2008). The organizers of the present meeting intend to adhere to the high standards set by these previous meetings.
